'Jeopardy!' Devotes Entire Category To Queens

By Evan Bindelglass, CBSNewYork.com

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- If you live in a certain outer borough, you might have felt an extra sense of pride Tuesday night.

The television quiz show "Jeopardy!" devoted an entire category in the second round to Queens.

It was called "The Queens English" and host Alex Trebek delivered the clues in a less than convincing (though amusing) Queens accent.

If you missed it, here are the clues.

$400: This airport in Queens used to be called Idlewild.

What is JFK?

$800: This guy, this guy, grew up in Queens and won the big event in the borough four times.

Who is John McEnroe?

(They did show a photo of him playing tennis while the clue was announced.)

$1,200: It's a little weird to say, but Queens is bounded on the west by this river.

What is the East River?

$1,600: The Vander Ende-Onderdonk House is on a land grant from this Dutch colonial governor.

Who is Peter Stuyvesant?

$2,000: It ain't no Waldorf, but this neighborhood has lots of Greeks, & Telly's Taverna--To Die For.

What is Astoria?

Would you have gotten them all right? Sound off below.
