NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New Jersey Devils have acquired forward Matt D'Agostini and a conditional seventh-round selection in 2015 from the St. Louis Blues for a conditional fifth-round choice in the same draft.

Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello announced the deal for the 26-year-old D'Agostini on Friday. He had a goal and an assist in 16 games with St. Louis this season.

D'Agostini started the season in Germany. He has 45 goals and 46 assists in 254 regular-season games. His best season was in 2010-11 when he had 21 goals and 46 points in 82 games.

A native of Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario, D'Agostini was drafted by Montreal in 2005 and played four seasons with the Canadiens before being dealt to St. Louis in March 2010.

D'Agostini will arrive in New Jersey on Friday night and will play against the Panthers on Saturday, according to Tom Gulitti of The Record.
