Queens High School Student's Alleged Threat Discovered By Canadian Authorities

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A 14-year-old boy at Richmond Hill High School has been charged as a juvenile for allegedly threatening to shoot a school dean who had suspended him.

The threat was made on Facebook and was first discovered by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as they were doing their own social media search of a Richmond Hill High School in Ontario.

The Canadians tipped off the NYPD, which charged the teen with making terroristic threats and aggravated harassment.

Cops say the dean initially suspended the boy on accusations of stealing a classmate's headphones.

The dean, who is also a teacher, apparently did not know about the alleged threat until police told her.

The boy told the Daily News it was all just a joke and that he was never going to hurt anyone.
