Man On Crutches Makes Off With Laptop Bag At Columbia

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A thief may have been on crutches, but police said that didn't stop him from stealing a laptop bag from someone at Columbia University and escaping.

Police said the man thief struck at 2:10 p.m. March 6, inside the Columbia University International Affairs Building at 420 W. 118th St.

The suspect took the victim's bag, which contained a laptop, police said.

The thief then fled the scene.

Police described the suspect only as a white male who was walking on crutches. A surveillance photo showed that he had a thick, dark beard and was wearing a gray stocking cap at the time.
