NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Eight people were injured Sunday afternoon in a multi-vehicle accident on the Long Island Expressway in eastern Queens.

Fire crews were called shortly before 1:30 p.m. for the three-vehicle accident in the westbound lanes of the expressway at 172nd Street, near Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Eight people were injured. Four were reported in good condition, and four more in fair-to-serious condition.

Six of the injured people were taken to area hospitals, while two more refused treatment, authorities said.
