Motorcyclist Dead, 2 Others Injured In Harrison, N.J., Crash

HARRISON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured early Sunday, in a crash on a highway in Harrison, N.J.

The crash occurred around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on Route 280 East in Harrison.

A 22-year-old Philadelphia man had pulled his car off the road to check his tires, New Jersey State Police told the Jersey Journal. Moments after he re-entered the highway, a motorcycle driven by Vincent Peraino, 24, of Clifton struck the rear of the car.

Peraino suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another motorcyclist, identified only as a 27-year-old Bronx man, injured his right arm when his motorcycle hit Peraino's bike. The car driver suffered neck and back injuries.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation late Sunday afternoon.
