Previewing The 'Carrie Diaries' Season Finale With Brendan Dooling

NEW YORK (WLNY) -- Brendan Dooling plays Walt Reynolds, a teenager struggling to come out of the closet as the on-screen best guy friend of Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries, the prequel to Sex & The City.

The local young man, raised in Long Island and now living in Brooklyn, said despite his role on the show he has yet to experience a lot of fanfare.

And he's just fine with it.

"I mean, Katie Findlay and I we went to a Rangers game one night and were recognized at the bar there by one girl, and that was really cool cause that's never happened to me before," he said.

The 23-year-old is a performer on the rise.

In addition to his role as Walt, Brendan also appeared int he Sundance 2013 film, Breathe In. What's more, Brendan is also the voice of Chippey the Elf from Elf on A Shelf.

No word yet on whether or not the show will be picked up for a second season. The Carrie Diaries airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
