Sree Tips: Top Time-Wasting Apps
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Do you find yourself looking for an app to pass the time as you wait in line for a bus, while commuting, or at the doctor's office?
Well, Sree Sreenivasan, tech expert from our partner network CNET - and Columbia University's chief digital officer, stopped by with some apps our viewers tweeted to him.
We're calling these time-wasting apps, or time-pass apps, and we learned about some cool new ones when people responded to our request for suggestions on Twitter.
First up is Pulse (free, Android/iPhone/iPad, suggested by @ArtofJoe - Jose Lopez).
Last week, Sree mentioned he loves Flipboard and several people told him they prefer Pulse. It's a great way to catch up with the news (which we don't consider a waste of time) and also has a nice web version.
Then there is Umano (free, Android/iPhone/iPad, suggested by @AaronGottlieb - Aaron Gottlieb).
This is a handy app that has a way of reading aloud articles to you.
Finally, there is A Little Land ($0.99, iPhone/iPad only, suggested by @HughL - Hugh L).
This is an unusual, floating world game that you'll want to try.
