Suspect Allegedly Grabbed Girl's Buttocks In Mid-April Incident

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — An Albany man has been arrested and charged with groping a 9-year-old girl in the East Village.

Rene Otero, 52, was charged Monday with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the incident on April 14.

The incident happened around 4:45 p.m. that Sunday in the 9th Precinct, which includes the East Village, police said. Police did not provide a specific location where the alleged sexual abuse occurred.

The man walked up to the girl and touched her buttocks, police said. No one was injured in the incident.

Police released a sketch and a surveillance image of the suspect following the incident.
