JERSEY CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Four people shot in a Jersey City public housing development were expected to recover from their wounds, authorities said Sautrday.

It was not clear what spared the shootings Friday night at the Booker T. Washington Apartments on Fremont Street, police said.

The shootings happened just before midnight Friday night, police told the Jersey Journal.

The names of the victims and details on the injuries have not been disclosed, though all four remained hospitalized on Saturday.

Authorities also would not say how many assailants may have been involved or what type of weapon was used.
