Motorcycle Officer Struck By Car On Upper East Side

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New York City police officer on a motorcycle was injured when he was struck by a car on the Upper East Side.

A driver was attempting to change lanes at 84th Street and Park Avenue when she struck the highway officer. An Associated Press account Sunday did not specify exactly when the accident happened.

The officer was being treated at an area hospital for a leg injury, police said. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities were investigating the incident Sunday. There was no information on whether the driver who struck the officer received any tickets.
