Anti-Semitic Graffiti Found Spraypainted In Massapequa

MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police in Nassau County were investigating the discovery of anti-Semitic graffiti that appeared on a fence this weekend in Massapequa.

Three swastikas and unspecified anti-Semitic remarks were found spraypainted in black early Sunday on the fence of a home on Jerusalem Avenue in Massapequa, Nassau County police said. The vandalism happened sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

The scrawl was about 8 inches high, police said.

The vandalism was being investigated as a bias incident. Anyone with information was asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers anonymously at (800) 244-TIPS.

The incident comes less than a week after anti-Semitic graffiti was found smeared on a school and a synagogue in Far Rocakway, Queens. The words "kill Jews" were scrawled on a fence post at Yeshiva Ateres Shimon, at Mott and Caffrey avenues in Far Rockaway.

The very same words were found scribbled on the aluminum siding exterior wall of house just down the street on Caffrey Avenue sometime this past Monday morning.

The NYPD confirmed two other incidents, including a car vandalized on Beach 9th Street, and messages of hate on at least two other vehicles.
