Police: Suspect Arrested In Brooklyn House Party Shooting

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a house party in Brooklyn that left nine people injured.

Tyrone Brown, 24, was arrested Tuesday on attempted murder, assault, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon charges, police said.

The shooting happened June 30 following a dispute at a home on East 52nd Street in East Flatbush, police said. Someone was either asked to leave the party or was never allowed in, police said.

"This guy just went out, came back in and just started shooting," said witness Aaron Strahan. "There was basically nowhere to run. It was chaotic."

Nine people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Five were taken to Brookdale Hospital and two were taken Kings County Hospital while two more victims walked in to area hospitals on their own, police said.

A $12,000 reward had been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
