Summer Heat Sends Crowds Flocking To Air Conditioned Movie Theaters
NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Hollywood's summer blockbusters are heating up the big screen, but the real box office draw this weekend may have been the air-conditioning.
Lola from Newark told WCBS 880 reporter Jim Smith that going to the movies is a sure-fire way to beat the heat.

"I have air conditioning, but you don't want to be in the house," she said, "It's a nice beautiful day out here. Even though it's hot. It's a beautiful day, so go to the movies."
Movie theaters may be the only place that you could find people carrying sweatshirts and jackets on Saturday, but for some viewers the ending credits came too soon.
"You come back out here and we're baking again," Darlene said.
