Effort To Restore Fireboat 'The Fire Fighter'
GREENPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- The 134-foot-long FDNY boat The Fire Fighter dominates the skyline along the docks of Greenport, Long Island and serves as a museum ship. But has become rusted out and is in dire need of restoration.
Unless the money is raised to fix the boat and make sure nothing harmful leaks into the clear North Fork waters, Greenport village officials said the venerable ship will have to go elsewhere.
