Police: Suspects Throw Girl Off Roof After Sexual Assault In East New York

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Two men have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape and attempted murder of a 16-year-old girl in Brooklyn.

The two men lured the teenager to the rooftop of a building on Miller Avenue in East New York around 4 a.m. on July 14, police said.

The girl was then sexually assaulted and thrown off the roof, police said.

She was taken to Brookdale Hospital with multiple injuries to her leg, arm and neck.

Anwar Desouza, 24, faces charges of attempted murder, assault, rape, criminal sex act and strangulation. Police said he lives at the building where the alleged attack occurred.

Police continued to search for the second suspect and eventually arrested 25-year-old Antonio Owensford. He faces charges of attempted murder, assault, rape, and strangulation.
