Giants Sign FB Ryan D'Imperio, Waive PK David Buehler

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The New York Giants have signed former Rutgers fullback Ryan D'Imperio and waived placekicker David Buehler.

The Giants announced the moves Friday as the team reported to training camp.

D'Imperio appeared in two preseason games last year with Kansas City before being waived. A seventh-round draft choice by Minnesota in 2010, he appeared in 12 games for the Vikings.

Giants starting fullback Henry Hynoski hurt his knee in May and is recovering from surgery.

Buehler was signed Feb. 13 after playing for Dallas from 2009-2011. He did not play in 2012. The move leaves Josh Brown as the Giants kicker.

The Giants also signed their top draft pick, offensive tackle Justin Pugh, to a deal on Thursday.
