Suspect Charged With Killing Man, Wounding Woman In Staten Island Shooting
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man has been charged in a shooting this weekend that left another man dead and a woman injured on Staten Island.
Christopher Wells, 30, of the Bronx, was charged Tuesday with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal use of a firearm in the Saturday incident, police said.
The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Saturday at 225 Park Hill Ave., in the Park Hill section of Staten Island, police said.
Responding officers found a 22-year-old man with several gunshot wounds, and a 26-year-old woman shot in the right hip and left leg.
The victims were both taken to Staten Island University North Hospital, where the man – Victorious Briggs – was pronounced dead, police said.
The woman was last reported in stable condition, police said.
