Police Release New Photos Of Suspect In Queens Stabbing

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released new surveillance images of a man who is suspected of brutally attacking a Queens teenager last week.

Natasha Martinez, 17, was walking home from work alone around 11 p.m. last Monday when a man came up behind her on 85th Street and stabbed her nearly a dozen times just steps from her Woodhaven home, police said.

She was taken to Jamaica Hospital and underwent surgery for wounds to her back, arms, stomach and kidney.

Martinez remains hospitalized in critical condition, CBS 2 reported.

Police released two new surveillance pictures Tuesday showing the stabbing suspect fleeing the scene.

Police had previously released a surveillance video showing the suspect moments before the attack, strolling along wearing a hoodie.

That video helped lead investigators to a man they spent Monday questioning. That person was later released.

Police have been investigating whether the stabbing might be related to another incident that occurred in June.
