Ikea Recalls Two Junior Beds Due To Laceration Hazard

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - IKEA is recalling its KRITTER and SNIGLAR junior beds due to a laceration concern.

At issue is the possibility of a metal rod breaking near the bed side rail, which can create a sharp metal edge.

Customers who have the bed are urged to immediately stop using it and to check the product label under the headboard or on the underside of the bed for the date stamp.

According to IKEA, only KRITTER junior beds with date stamp (YYWW) from 1114 to 1322 and SNIGLAR junior beds with date stamp from 1114 to 1318 are affected.

The model number for KRITTER is 600.904.70 and for SNIGLAR 500.871.66, the supplier number for KRITTER is 15361 and for SNIGLAR 19740 or 18157. Those numbers also appear on the label.

If you have one of the affected junior beds please contact customer service at (888) 966-4532 to receive a repair kit free of charge. The repair kit contains a replacement metal rod, tools and instruction sheet.
