Officer George Sotomayor Hit With Multiple Charges

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A New York City police officer stood charged with multiple offenses Monday, reportedly on allegations that he attacked his girlfriend.

Officer George Sotomayor, 30, was arrested Monday in the 45th NYPD Precinct, which includes the Throggs Neck section of the Bronx.

He was charged with assault with a weapon and strangulation, police said.

Police did not offer additional details. But the New York Daily News reported he allegedly attacked his girlfriend with a weapon and choked her.
