Police: Man Came At Woman With Knife On Bus In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking for the public to help them find a man who attacked a woman as she rode an MTA bus with her children in the Bronx last month.

The assault happened around 5:45 p.m. on July 9, police said. The 27-year-old woman was with her children on the Bx2 Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus when she saw the man masturbating, police said.

The woman asked the man to stop masturbating, and told the bus driver what he was doing, police said. The man came up to the victim and flashed a knife, police said.

The woman struggled with the man and grabbed his hand to defend herself, police said. The man got off the bus when it stopped at 171st Street and Grand Concourse, police said.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police have released surveillance photos of the suspect.
