Giants Activate Defensive End Pierre-Paul From The PUP List

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Giants announced today that star defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul has been activated from the PUP list. He is now cleared to practice.

He wasn't committing to whether he would be ready for Week 1 in Dallas. That being said, today's announcement is terrific news for Tom Coughlin and the Giants.

The pass rush specialist underwent herniated disc surgery in June. Pierre-Paul said he isn't experiencing pain. He spoke with Art Stapleton from the Record.

"I don't have pain ... That pain is gone," Pierre-Paul said.

Pierre-Paul has recorded 27.5 sacks through 48 career games through three seasons with the Giants. In 2012, he made 66 tackles and recorded 6.5 sacks.
