Yankees Infielder Eduardo Nunez Day To Day After Twisting Right Knee

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Yankees infielder Eduardo Nunez is day to day after an MRI on his ailing right knee was negative.

Nunez had the test on the Yankees' off day Thursday. New York opens an important weekend series against Baltimore on Friday night at Yankee Stadium.

Nunez twisted his right knee when he caught his cleat in a seam on the artificial turf in Toronto while covering second base during New York's 7-1 win Tuesday night. He tried to play on Wednesday, but was scratched after he felt sore during batting practice.

The 26-year-old Nunez is batting .248 with a homer, 10 doubles and 20 RBIs in 69 games.
