Report: 15-Year-Old Charged In Connection With Shocking Crime

NEW YORK(AP) -- Police say they've arrested a 15-year-old boy who forced a 7-year-old girl to perform a sex act on him and then started a fire in an attempt to kill her in New York's Hudson Valley.

State police said Saturday the boy has been charged with criminal sex act and attempted murder. The boy was arraigned at Fishkill Town Court is being held in a juvenile detention facility.

Police say the girl alleged to the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center the 15-year-old acquaintance started a fire in the home where she was staying in Fishkill sometime after forcing her to perform a sex act. Police say they recovered evidence from the crime scene.

Investigators say the 15-year-old was found in nearby Poughkeepsie.
