Report: At Least One Dead In Brookhaven Car Crash

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- One person was dead and two others were injured following a crash in Brookhaven on Saturday afternoon, Newsday reported.

The accident took place near the intersection of Horseblock Road and Montauk Highway just before 4 p.m., the report said.

Judith Rivera, 71, was killed when a 2004 Chevy Malibu being driven by her daughter Jessica Pistolese struck a 2011 Chrysler 300 that was being operated by Aide Marichal, police said.

Marichal was attempting make a turn from Horseblock Road onto Montauk Highway when the accident happened.

Pistolese and Marichal were both taken to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue with non-life threatening injuries. Both women have been released.

Pistolese was charged with Reckless Driving. She was released on bail and given a Desk Appearance Ticket. Pistolese's arraignment was scheduled for November 4.

The accident remains under investigation.
