The Secret Sex Lives Of Swingers Depicted In New Reality Show

NEW YORK (WLNY) -- A new reality show is documenting the sex lives of those in the swingers community.

Discovery Fit & Health's show, Secret Sex Lives: Swingers, premieres Saturday. It follows five all-American couples from the Atlanta community as they juggle marriage, family commitments and careers.

One of the couples of the show, Rebecca and Chris, have been together for five years and are engaged to be married. They joined us on The Couch to give us some insight into the lifestyle, how how their choices have affected their relationships with families, friends and co-workers.

The couple said there are a lot of misconceptions about swingers, and the two of them made it clear that they are "not nymphomaniacs."

"A perception is that every time we go out is that we're automatically going to have sex with another couple if we're going out for that kind of date," said Rebecca. "It just doesn't happen that way. If there's not a connection, you don't want to have sex with someone you don't have a connection with. "

The couple has rules in place for how they select their partners without affecting their own relationship.

"Our main rule is that we both have to be into the other person," said Rebecca. "We both have to be into it together. That way the jealousy doesn't seep up and ruin the evening."

To them, "swinging" is just the natural evolution of their relationship.

"We started talking about the fantasies that we had and the things that we would like to do and it would just grew from there," said Chris. "We thought we'd heck out one of the local clubs."But it has come at a price. Rebecca, who is struggling to reconcile her Christian faith with her sexual lifestyle, said her family has no spoken to her since she told them she was a swinger.
