NYPD Detective, Correction Officer Arrested In Separate Incidents

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New York City police detective has been arrested on an assault charge and a city correction officer is facing charges of menacing in a separate incident, police said.

NYPD Detective Mike Oner was arrested Tuesday in Staten Island on a charge of assault stemming from a street encounter.

Correction officer Tiffany Rankins, 34, was also arrested Tuesday after she threatened an acquaintance with a gun in East Harlem, police said. Rankins has been charged with menacing.

Both Oner and Rankins were off-duty at the time of their arrests.
