Cops: Manhattan Theft Suspect Uses Wheelchair

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the public for help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a series of thefts in Manhattan.

On Aug. 19, the suspect removed an unattended bag from a woman at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on Broadway near 46th Street. The bag contained a wallet, an iPad, a necklace and money.

On Aug. 30, at 11:30 p.m. the suspect allegedly made off with a bag containing credit cards and money at Nobu on West 57th Street.

The most recent incident occurred Sept. 3, at Havana Central Restaurant on West 46th Street, where a woman left her purse on an empty chair while she got up to dance and returned to find it missing. The purse contained a wallet, credit cards and money.

The suspect has been described as a Hispanic male in a wheelchair.
