NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — A homeless man has been charged with the 2009 murder of a 23-year-old student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, police said Wednesday.

In July 2009, Carmen Saldana was found dead and naked in a bed at her family’s home in the Astoria section of Queens, according to police and published reports. The medical examiner ruled her death a homicide due to asphyxiation.
