More Than A Dozen Vehicles Vandalized In Toms River

TOMS RIVER, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A string of disturbing acts of vandalism have been discovered in Toms River, N.J.

Police said more than a dozen vehicles had their tires slashed late Saturday night into Sunday morning at several locations throughout Toms River Township.

Eight of the vehicles were damaged in the parking lot of the AMG Motors Service Center, at 518 Fischer Blvd., while the others were damaged on Oceanic and Beach View drives, according to an Asbury Park Press report.

One of the cars, a 2009 Mercedes Benz, had a swastika carved into its rear door, the newspaper reported.

The estimated cost of the damage was at least $4,000, the newspaper reported.

Anyone with information was asked to call Toms River Township police Capt. Bruce Burgess, at (732) 349-0150, ext. 200. There was no word on any arrests Monday night.
