NEW YORK (WLNY) — Kale is popping up on menus and in recipes and now it might even get its own day.

Dr. Drew Ramsey, author of “50 Shades of Kale,” stopped by The Couch to talk about the benefits of the leafy green.

“It’s going to keep you healthy, it’s going to keep you trim, it’s full of vitamins, minerals and phyto nutrients to keep your system healthy,” Ramsey said.

From salads to cooked dishes there are plenty of ways to eat kale.

Ramsey showed The Couch some simple and fun treats from his book, including kale pesto, kale chips and kale chocolate chip cookies.
