Sree's Tips: Xbox One Vs. Playstation 4

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Gamers are already counting down the days until two big consoles hit the market.

Sree Sreenivasan, tech expert from our partner network CNET and the Metropolitan Museum of Art's chief digital officer, says the new Xbox One from Microsoft and the new Playstation 4 from Sony are more than just about games -- they're entertainment centers.

Xbox One

Selling points of the Xbox include advanced voice and motion control that can record your every move and being able to switch instantly from a game to TV or a movie.

The price is $499, about $100 more than the Playstation. If you want to use Netflix and similar services, you have to sign up for an Xbox Live subscription.

Xbox One hits the market Nov. 22.

Playstation 4

The Playstation 4 is highlighting what is calls its superior graphics, though the fact is that both of these consoles are very close in quality.

It won't have a paywall for services like Netflix and Hulu, but it also won't have an advanced motion sensor like the Xbox does in the included price.

It costs just $399 and that $100 discount is going to be attractive for a lot of families.

Playstation 4 goes on sale Nov. 15.
