John Dozier, 64, Struck And Killed While Crossing The Street

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — A 64-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Canarsie, Brooklyn on Friday night.

Police and EMS responded to a report of a struck pedestrian near 1447 Remsen Avenue at 8:25 p.m.

The man, later identified as John Dozier, was suffering from severe body trauma and was transported to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Dozier was struck by 2012 Chevy SUV traveling northbound on Remsen Ave, according to authorities.

The driver did not remain at the scene of the accident . The investigation is ongoing.
