Police Arrest Registered Sex Offender For Allegedly Exposing Himself To Kids On L.I.

MEDFORD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A registered sex offender has been arrested for allegedly exposing himself to children on Long Island.

On Oct. 10, police said Ray Sanchez, 31, of Coram exposed himself to an 8-year-old girl while she was shopping with her mother in a Target store in Medford.

"She told her mother and then her mother took cell phone pictures of the subject -- several pictures of him as he was leaving the store," Det. Lt. Tom O'Heir told 1010 WINS.

Five days later, police said two 13-year-old girls witnessed Sanchez masturbating in a parked car in front the Setauket Elementary School.

Sanchez, who is a level two sex offender, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, exposure of a person and public lewdness.

He is also facing a parole violation, O'Heir said.

Sanchez is expected to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Center Islip.
