Compassionate Bus Driver Breaks Routine To Save Woman's Life

BUFFALO (CBSNewYork) -- A bus driver filled with compassion helped to save the life of a suicidal woman in Buffalo Tuesday.

Darrell Barton was driving a Buffalo City bus when he noticed a woman standing over an expressway railing.

Barton interrupted his routine, pulled over, and managed to talk the woman into climbing back over the rail.

"It was meant to be. I was supposed to be there for her at that moment and I was. I wanted to convey that whatever it was I'm going to, we're gonna, help you through whatever it is and it's not as serious as jumping onto the 198," Barton said.
