NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Saturday were investigating an attack that left one man dead and another wounded by gunfire, and two others were pistol-whipped, in a public housing development in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn.

Police responded just before 6:45 p.m. Friday to 572 Warren St., a building in the Warren Street Houses development, and found a 43-year-old man lying at the scene with a gunshot wound to the head. The unidentified man was pronounced dead shortly afterward at New York Methodist Hospital, police said.

Police also found two other men, ages 40 and 30, with minor injuries from the pistol-whipping, police said. They were both taken to local hospitals for treatment.

A 38-year-old man refused medical treatment after suffering a graze wound to the hip, police said.

As of Saturday morning, there were no arrests in the case and the investigation continued.
