NYPD Joins Search For Missing Marlboro, N.J. Teen

MARLBORO, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD's Missing Person Squad has stepped in to assist the Marlboro Township Police Department in their search for a young man who has been reported missing.

Michael Karwan, 19, was reported missing on Tuesday, November 19. He was last seen by his family at their home at 52 School Road West in Marlboro, New Jersey.

After further investigation it was determined that he was seen by a bus driver at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, according to authorities. He was also seen getting on a bus in Monmouth County, 1010 WINS'  Gary Baumgarten reported.

Karwan was wearing a dark leather jacket, blue jeans, a light-colored button down shirt, and green shoes. He has been described has having black hair, brown eyes, is 6'2", and weighs 220-lbs.

Karwan is autistic, his father works in Midtown, and the teen's favorite comic book store is located at 40th Street and 7th Ave.

On Saturday night, Congressman Michael Grimm (Republican, Staten Island/Brooklyn) announced plans to join Citywide Disaster Services in the search for Karwan between 2 a.m. and 8 a.m.

Karwan's family has offered a $25,000 reward for the missing teen.
