Fox Escapes From Staten Island Zoo

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A seven-month-old red fox has escaped from the Staten Island Zoo, and officials are worried about her chance for survival.

The fox burrowed out of her enclosure earlier this week. She was adopted by the zoo and named Montana after she was found wandering near Yellowstone National Park.

Zoo officials warned that anyone who spots the fox should not approach her, but call the zoo instead at 718-442-3101.

On its Facebook page, the zoo said there have been reported sightings of the fox in Randall Manor, New Brighton and West Brighton areas.
