Man Struck, Killed By Vehicle In Woodhaven, Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Saturday were searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a man in Woodhaven, Queens.

Officers responded around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, the 35-year-old man was struck by a white Honda sedan headed south on Woodhaven Boulevard at Jamaica Avenue.

The man suffered severe trauma, and was pronounced dead soon afterward at Jamaica Hospital, police said.

He was trying to cross Woodhaven Boulevard from east to west at the time, police said.

The driver sped off after striking the man, police said.

The victim was identified Saturday afternoon as Yunior Antonio Perez Rodriguez of Brooklyn, police said.

As of Saturday afternoon, there were no arrests and the investigation continued.
