A Chat With The Author Of 'The Husband's Secret'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Australian author Liane Moriarty's latest best-seller in a page-turner.

WCBS 880's Pat Farnack spoke with Moriarty about her book, "The Husband's Secret."

It's about a woman who finds a letter addressed to her by her husband. On the envelope it says: "To Cecilia: To Be Opened In The Event Of My Death."

She finds the letter while her husband is very much alive - and decides to open it.

"She wasn't meant to find it. It was meant to be put away," Moriarty told Farnack. "Really, the story is about what happens next."

The letter reveals something Cecilia's husband had covered up.

Farnack asked Moriarty whether knowing the truth is always best.

"In this case, it's a very difficult question whether it's a good thing or a bad thing and I don't know what the answer would be at the end," she said.
