Bloomberg Always Thought West Side Stadium Was A 'Good Idea'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mayor Michael Bloomberg has just a matter of days left in office, and he said he doesn't have too many regrets.
But he did say he wished a West Side football stadium had been completed on his watch.
As WCBS 880's Monica Miller reported Saturday, investments in the city's infrastructure are a proud achievement for the mayor. On Friday, he took an inaugural ride on a private train car down an extension of the No. 7 line from Times Square-42nd Street two 34th Street and Eleventh Avenue.

The extension is set to be completed by mid-2014.
"You know, you take a look at all the infrastructure," Bloomberg said. "We stopped in the '70's, not only building new things, but maintaining what we had."
But does he wish the station would let off passengers to a West Side stadium he proposed for the Jets and the Olympics?
"We didn't get the stadium, and I always thought it was a good idea," Bloomberg said.
The 85,000-seat stadium was originally proposed for the 2012 Summer Olympics, which went to London after New York lost the bid. It was to be downgraded to 75,000 seats after the Olympics, and serve as the home of the Jets.
The stadium would have been constructed over the West Side rail yard between Tenth and Twelfth avenues and 30th and 33rd streets.
But Bloomberg said he was not losing much sleep over the fact that the West Side stadium did not work out.
"We have two new baseball stadiums, we got a new football stadium, we've got housing we're going to build over in Long Island City. You go down the list," Bloomberg said. "The only thing we never got done was the Velodrome.
Bloomberg's last day in office is Dec. 31.
