Police Hunt For Suspect Who Stole Phone From Woman On D Train

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Monday were searching for a suspect who ripped off a cellphone from a woman on a subway train in Brooklyn.

Around 2 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, the male suspect went up to the 26-year-old woman on a southbound D Train at the Ninth Avenue station in Borough Park, Brooklyn, police said.

He took her cellphone, and fled, police said.

Police have released as surveillance photo of the suspect.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
