4 People Shot, 1 Fatally, In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- One person was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting in Springfield Garden, Queens on Friday afternoon.

Shortly after 4 p.m. police responded to a call in the vicinity of 134th Avenue and Farmers Boulevard, where they found Jamal Green, 42, with a gunshot wound to his torso. Green was pronounced dead at the scene.

Green, also known as Mazaradi Fox, was identified as a childhood friend of 50 Cent and was part of the rapper's G Unit crew, The Daily News reported. He had been signed onto 50 Cent's G Unit record label in 2007.

Officers also found a male, 29, with gunshot wounds to his neck and shoulder. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition along with a female, 33, who was listed in stable condition with a graze wound to the neck.

A fourth victim, a 22-year-old male, was taken to North Shore Hospital on Long Island in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.

EMS told 1010 WINS that two separate shootings had occurred. The first took place at Farmers Boulevard and 133rd Avenue and the second took place at 178th Street and 134th Avenue.

Green had been released from prison on Dec. 20, after serving a two-year sentence for attempted assault, the report said. He was also convicted of attempted murder in 1998, according to court records, 1010 WINS reported.

No arrests have been made. The shooting remains under investigation.
