American Apparel Mannequins Turning Heads On East Houston Street

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- These mannequins don't beat around the bush!

If you happen to walk by the window at the American Apparel store on East Houston Street, the window display will likely get your attention.

That's because the mannequins modeling lingerie can be seen sporting pubic hair.

Ryan Holiday, Director of Marketing at American Apparel, told Gothamist, "The display was created for that store specifically."

"American Apparel is a company that celebrates natural beauty, and the Lower East Side Valentine's Day window continues that celebration. We created it to invite passerby's to explore the idea of what is "sexy" and consider their comfort with the natural female form," Holiday added.

The display has taken the Twitterverse by storm, with several people applauding the display, while others saying it is in poor taste.
