Police Release Sketch In Brooklyn Livery Cab Robbery, Beating
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday were asking for help from the public in finding a suspect who robbed livery cab driver at gunpoint and beat him in Flatbush-Ditmas Park, Brooklyn.
Around 5:15 a.m. Jan. 26, two suspects entered a livery cab parked in front of 430 E. 8th St. in Brooklyn, police said. One suspect placed a gun to the back of the 22-year-old male driver's head and demanded money, police said.
A struggle ensued, and the driver was struck multiple times in the face with a closed fist, police said. He suffered cuts and bruises.
The suspects took about $500 and the victim's iPhone, police said.
Police have released a sketch of one suspect, who is described as a black male between 25 and 35, weighing about 150 to 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweat shirt, police said.
