Boy, 13, Accused In String Of Sexual Assaults In Southern New Jersey

BLACKWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A 13-year-old boy has been arrested, after he allegedly made unwelcome sexual contact with five different women in southern New Jersey.

The boy was charged with sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault, lewdness and harassment in the incidents, CBS Philadelphia reported. His name was not released as he is a minor.

Investigators said the incidents began last year in the Autumn Ridge Apartments complex on Little Gloucester Road, in the Camden County municipality of Blackwood, N.J.

He was arrested Sunday after a resident of the complex found a suspect matching the description of the boy, CBS Philadelphia reported.

Gloucester Township police have accused the boy in the following incidents:

• On Jan. 31, a suspect came up to a woman and showed her a condom, then grabbed her buttocks as she walked away. The suspect ran away when the woman screamed;

• On Feb. 18, the suspect approached a woman as she cleared snow off her car, grabbed her buttocks, and tried to kiss her before she screamed and he ran away;

• The same day, the suspect came up to another woman walking, grabbed her buttocks and tried to kiss her, before she screamed and he ran away;

• On Feb. 20, the suspect came up to a woman going into her apartment and grabbed her buttocks, before she yelled at him and he ran off;

• After seeing a police community alert, a woman said a suspect had approached her and rubbed her shoulders inappropriately at some point in December, before she yelled at him and he ran off.

The boy was being held at the Camden County Juvenile Detention Center Monday night, CBS Philadelphia reported.
