More People Come Forward, Accuse Veteran Suffolk Cop Of Stealing During Traffic Stops
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - The Suffolk County police sergeant accused of targeting Hispanic drivers and then stealing from them during traffic stops was in court Thursday.
Sgt. Scott Greene did not say a word as he appeared in court to face charges that he stole money from drivers.
Meantime, more victims have come forward saying they were victimized by Greene.

At the time of Greene's arrest, he was suspected in at least three incidents. But the organization Make The Road in Brentwood went out into the community and found more victims who came forward to the authorities.
Spokeswoman Irma Solis said there are now 13 victims who made reports to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office. Four others are too afraid to come forward, Solis said.
"The money that was taken from them was either the money that they had for the week to buy their food or part of the money to pay their rent, money that they very much needed," said Solis.
Greene was arrested in January. He is accused of pulling over Hispanic drivers, asking them to get out of their cars and then stealing whatever cash he could find.
The prosecutor in court said they are continuing to investigate this case.
Greene's lawyer would not comment.
Greene, a 25-year veteran of the force, is due back in court on April 23. He was caught following a sting operation from the DA's office.
