Police On The Hunt For Suspect Who Tried To Lure Girl Into SUV In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Thursday night were asking the public to help them in the search for a man who tried to lure a 12-year-old girl into his sport-utility vehicle in Queens.

Around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, the girl was walking in the area of 49th Street and Ditmars Boulevard on the cusp of Astoria and Woodside, Queens, police said.

The suspect pulled up alongside the girl and tried to lure her into his vehicle, police said.

The girl refused to get in, and the suspect drove off when the girl's babysitter approached, police said.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect.
