Harp Seal Spotted By Plant Workers Near Newtown Creek In Greenpoint

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A seal has been spotted in Brooklyn.

On Sunday afternoon, the small harp seal was spotted near the Newtown Creek on Paidge Avenue off of Provost Street in Greenpoint.

The seal was spotted by workers at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, it eventually made its way back into the water.

The director of The Riverhead Foundation said that the seal was a harp seal based on a picture sent to the rescue program by the woman who first spotted it.

Three days ago a seal was found on a beach in the Rockaways.
